An unconvincing tale, the story begins with Dorababu (srikanth) who has all bad habits but has a good heart. He lives in a village in Godavari district. Here comes Swapna (vidisha) a well educated girl and Dorababu decides to have her. But he is unable to do for some reason and meanwhile Swapna falls in love with him. The village has an old temple and this is sighted by the bad guys who want to set up a cement factory. But there is a strong connection between that temple and Dorababu. What is that connection and what happens after forms the rest of the story.Devaraya Telugu Cinema ReviewPresentation:
The director has come up with a good storyline with an interesting message and while the presentation was good, the narrative was poor.  The dialogues were not heavy, the script was hardly appealing and the screenplay was weak. The background score was effective but songs were not so.  Cinematography was the icing on the cake. Editing was required at few places. Costumes were well designed and natural while the art department was rich. Srikanth has given a committed performance and he was upto the mark in his double role. Meenakshi Dixit is mindblowing hot and sexy, she needs to get more chances. Vidisha was glamorous enough. Jayaprakash Reddy was usual. Ranganath was matured. M S Narayana, Jeeva and others were there to fill the screen. Balaiah was elegant. Devaraya Filem ReviewConclusion:
Looking at the title many will expect the film to contain some truths about the historical King Krishnadevaraya but it is not so. This is a total fiction story. While the first half goes on a lighter note with elements of romance, comedy, songs etc the second half is the place where the real plot comes into picture and it ends with a melodrama and sentiment angle. Overall, this is a film which has a very good idea but it was not shaped up well so success is difficult at the box office.

Bharatstudent Verdict : Good thought, poor onscreen conceiving
